My Students
Imagine just for a second if the words on a page magically spoke to you allowing you to capture so vividly the setting, characters, and even their emotions. Well, with the iPod nano there would be no magic just endless possibilities for my students.
I teach a wonderful group of 4th graders at a Title I school which has a large number of students who receive free or reduced lunch.
Although my students are young in age, they are wise in knowledge. My students care about one another and are always looking for ways that they can support those in the classroom as well as the community. Each student is unique and fun to be around. My students especially love to know that others care about them and want them to succeed, which is why they constantly support their classmates as they are working towards their academic goals. My classroom is definitely one that values community learning and my students display that each day with the respect they show toward one another.
My Project
The iPod nanos will enhance learning because it has a unique way to reach all learners. I will be able to redefine my teaching with the integration of these iPods. I plan on using it as a portable listening center to build students' fluency in reading. My students will utilize the video camera features to record documentaries, projects, debates, and book reviews which they can share with students beyond our classroom walls.
With your donations my students will not have to rely on magic to allow their endless possibilities to become reality.
They will have the reality in the palm of their hands in the form of technology. Which, they will use to become producers of their own learning.
