My Students
300 new students are enrolling in our school this fall, but we have no money for resources! With so many new students, our school library is not equipped with the reading resources these students need!
Our middle school students come to us from various parts of the surrounding city.
Our school is labeled as high poverty due to the needs of our students. They face daily challenges that many of us can't even imagine. Despite the obstacles, their education remains a priority to them! School is a safe haven - a place to feel loved, protected, and valued.
My Project
The Hunger Games is a novel that will open the eyes of our students and forever change their perspective of the world! They will be presented with the ideas of Utopia vs. Dystopia; thoughts of "what will our world look like 100 years from now?"; and "what kind of change can I make in my world?" Through this book, our students will not only learn fundamentals of literature and writing, but they will learn the value of integrity, friendship, and facing life's challenges with a noble heart.
