My students need books on their level to keep at home including the Arthur series and the Encyclopedia Brown series. Many able readers have home libraries which allow them to experience the joy of reading.

My Students
My students love to read and I want them to be surrounded by books at home. They can read to their younger siblings, to their parents and to their stuffed animals! Most of the research indicates that the more students read, the better readers they become. I want to give my students that opportunity.
My students come from families where their parents struggle to put food on the table and pay their rent.
Our school has students from many different countries including Thailand (originally from Burma, put placed in Thailand refugee camps), Dominican Republic, Haiti, Somalia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Togo, St. Lucia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc. Students are very motivated to learn and i would like to support them by providing them with the resources they need to be successful. They can follow their dreams and become the doctors, engineers, etc. of the future with our help.
My Project
By providing the students with quality books they will develop, hopefully, a life-long love of reading while improving their reading skills. they will experience the thrill of adventure with jack and Annie in the Magic Tree House series as well as laughter and wonderment in other books.
You will make such a difference in my students' lives by providing the essential tools for success.
My students will be thrilled to be able to have their own home libraries. They deserve no less than their suburban neighbors and you can help to make this happen.
