This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a very low income urban area and attend a Title I school where every student receives free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students do not have computers, tablets, or internet access at home and do not have the means to obtain access to online tools that promote learning in all subject areas.

Many of my students' parents are not literate, which means that in most cases, the only reading and writing supports my students receive are here at school.

My school's budget allows for desks, chairs, and, on occasion, paper, pencils, and basic office supplies. Teachers at my school must provide any additional furnishings, learning tools/supports such as manipulatives and games, as well as technology for their individual classrooms.

My Project

Right now, our class Chromebooks are moved around the classroom wherever there might be an available outlet for charging or some free table/desk space for storing. Handling the Chromebooks while cleaning up or transitioning from one activity to the next can be a fairly risky endeavor and while my students have done a great job with being careful with our technology so far, it would be even better to have a cart where these Chromebooks could have a permanent home.

This Chromebook cart has enough storage space to house all of our Chromebooks and classroom Nooks - it even has the ability to house necessary chargers!

This cart also locks and can be transported from area to area quickly without risking damage or accidents in the process.
