Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a class full of energetic, curious and compassionate first-graders. My students love to explore, ask questions, read, play and dance. They are learning about community involvement and always find ways to brighten each others' day. They love helping and learning.

Our school is located near downtown Los Angeles, California.

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am eager to provide my students with quality and equitable learning materials and opportunities. I look forward to promoting creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

At our school, we love to read! Our classroom is centered around reading and analyzing texts. Books are at the center of our learning. We use books to learn about ourselves, our community, and our world.

Our classroom library is more than a place to read, it's a place to grow, share, and explore.

As our library grows, our need for more bookshelves and book cubbies increases.

With our new bookshelves, our library will be efficiently organized to better support student literacy skills. Additionally, our books will have a safe home to live. Our books will live comfortably in their new home!

As readers, we know how important it is to treasure books. Please help us keep our books safe for years to come!
