Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By donating to this project you will help create a cozy reading corner in our classroom library. We currently only have limited shelving on the walls. Students in this classroom are low income and many don’t have a reading corner at home. By donating the furniture, I will be able to create a comfortable area in the classroom where students can get lost in their favorite reads.
A reading corner in a classroom is important for children because it creates a dedicated, comfortable space that encourages a love for reading and literacy.
It provides a quiet, cozy environment where students can explore books at their own pace, helping them develop imagination, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. By making reading feel like a fun and relaxing activity, rather than a chore, a reading corner can foster lifelong reading habits.
I also plan to invest in a rug and some pillows to bring our reading corner to life!
