This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The young artists at my school love to color with crayons. Many students cannot afford art supplies and crayons are what most students have at home. In the art studio I use crayons to teach color theory, color mixing and shading. The students are surprised to see what they can do with a simple crayon, and they practice their new techniques at home. In the art studio we have been using leftover takeout containers to house the crayons. I would love to be able to give each table (7 tables) a crayon caddy. A crayon caddy will keep the crayons organized by color, while teaching students how to maintain organization in the art studio.
