Sierra Verde STEAM Academy is home to over 950 K-8 students.
Students in grades K-3 represent over 400 members of this population. The ability to read powers our STEAM focus. Our problem solving is not limited to engineering, science, and technology. We strive to help children develop the problem solving skills that will enable them to become strong competent readers. One of the skills needed, is the ability to decode text. The materials requested in will provide our young learners with a hands on approach to breaking this code. It will also provide opportunities for modeling from the teacher, me! Students who are having difficulty as they try to "Break the Reading Code", are students who will greatly benefit from an interactive multisensory approach.
