My students need Bristle Builders sets, a sensory table with supplies, like Stay-Dry Water Play Smock and sand, in order to to be encouraged to explore through their five senses and discover the world around them.
Help us explore our senses and discover the world around us! Sensory play is a valuable part of education in Kindergarten.
My students are very excited about learning!
They are always eager to see what fun things we will do for the day. As a middle to low income area, these students need the opportunity to explore different venues of learning. One area that enhances several developmental stages is learning while using the five senses. Sensory play provides hands-on learning for children. They are able to get a better understanding of what they are learning when they are able to actually touch and explore.
My Project
The use of sensory materials allows children the opportunity for hands-on and self-directed play to encourage development with fine/gross motor skills, creativity, self-esteem, social development, and cognitive development. Students will be able to do activities such as practicing cutting skills, fishing for numbers and letters from the table, and science experiments with boats to find out if they sink or float just to name a few.
This project will mean so much to my students.
They really enjoy learning while playing. I enjoy how their creative minds work as they are increasing their social development. Kids learn best through play, therefore, this table will provide an opportunity for every area of their growth and development through the use of their five senses.
