it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students inspire me every day I show up to school. As they enter my room to prepare for the period ahead, there is a buzz among the students. It's a buzz I love to hear; it's a buzz that keeps me going.
My kids work for me the minute the bell rings, until the end of the period.
Sometimes when that perfect day comes, we even go into the passing period. That is when I know they are learning. It is because of those moments that I want to provide them with materials that will push them to succeed.
My Project
This year, I have more students who signed up to take AP Literature than any other year. While I love that more students are challenging themselves, it means that my class set will not be enough this year. Brave New World is one of the novels that past students have loved; it has made them think deeper, analyze better, and become more socially conscious. I would hate to have to switch to another dated novel.
A Brave New World is a staple for any English class.
Another ten novels would ensure that it stays that way for the next few years.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
