it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This lab investigation is designed to have students perform a series of chemical and physical tests to discern the nutrient- and water-holding properties of soil, which are related to agricultural productivity and crop selection.
Students will learn to perform chemical and physical tests on soil samples.
By the end of the lab, students will be able to use data to determine whether a type of soil is well-suited for growing different crops. They will gain knowledge of how soil productivity is determined to help foster a deeper understanding of crop yields and the impacts of agriculture. The supplies requested are used to determine the nutrient levels of the soil on campus. These tests are very important because identifying nutrients in the soil help inform future care methods. These nutrients are used by plants for the creation of amino acids, seed formation, metabolism, and so much more! Teaching students in urban environments about plant growth helps to increase self-reliance and appreciation for our food.
