Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school come from underprivileged homes, they all need and deserve the best possible learning environment. Because we are beginning the school year with Distance Learning, I want to create the best learning scenario possible for my Little Learners. Many of my students are raised by extended families, foster parents or single parent families. Many are working families who are struggling between making ends meet and getting food on the table. When students come to me at age 4, they have rarely had the experience of using their imagination by creating something with their own hands or by being a part of a group of learners.
As Dr Seuss said, "A person's a person no matter how small." These students are the future and cannot be forgotten.
I feel lucky to be the one to help them on their journey.
My Project
These items will help my little learner in many ways. The Iphone extension chord will enable me to model printing, drawing and cutting skills essential for Transitional Kindergarten learners. The workbooks will give each student their own pages to use as I model.
Because we will be learning through Distance Learning, it is very important that my students have the appropriate learning tools to help them succeed.
Little learners need their own workbook and their own supplies because hands on activities is essential at the TK level. The items I have chosen will give each student hands on learning experiences essential to master goals in TK. The more my students practice these skills, the more comfortable they will be in entering Kindergarten next year. These workbooks will help them achieve this goal.
