My Students
I have a classroom full of students who are ready to learn! We are learning about lots of things like shapes, sounds, animals, numbers, and plants. I would love to let their imagination explore in a book.
We are a new charter school going into our third year.
Progress is being made but we do not have books available for the students to explore with the exception of books donated from friends. As the year continues, more materials will be available to the students so they can show growth in their learning. Supplemental materials, like these books, can help increase their chances of being successful in the classroom.
My Project
The Kindergarten class could benefit from seeing a variety of books in the classroom because not all of the students have access to the library or able to buy books for their home. We will use these books to help their creativity expand, work on letter sounds in words, identify words and letters. Also, having a classroom library will expose the students to traditional stories and authors from the past.
Reading a good book will allow your mind to explore different places and you do not have to leave your house or class.
The students are able to increase fluency, recognize sight words, and start reading books on their own or to others. Reading a good book will help the students improve their writing with providing lots of details. Again, getting their creative juices flowing so they can possibly become a famous author themselves!
