My Students
I have 25 amazing, inquisitive, and eager to learn students. They are curious and always striving for new knowledge. It is because of them our classroom has an energetic, positive atmosphere which encourages all to work hard, learn, and improve even when the material is not easy.
They demonstrate excellence and are willing to share their understandings with others.
After 30 years of teaching, I am still in love with my profession because of these imaginative students who are the future of our world.
My Project
Kids can relate to kids. The characters in this story seem real and my students connect easily to the problems they encounter. The outrageous pranks and tricks each set of siblings pulls as they feud over an absurd idea, captivates everyone. Reluctant and struggling readers, ESL students, on target kids, and gifted students all beg to, "read one more chapter," during shared reading time.
My student will practice decoding skills, enrich their vocabulary and develop critical comprehension and language skills as we read and analyze this novel together.
This story is a superb hook that encourages independent reading for children. There are 12 books in this series that my students can't wait to read once we have read the first. The library has a long list of students in line for each book that takes all year to complete.
