My Project
We are in need of a new classroom rug for our kindergarten learning space. A classroom rug is not just a decorative item—in the kindergarten classroom, it is a central learning hub, a gathering space, and a tool for social and emotional development. Every young learner deserves a place to sit, learn, and feel seen. A new, inclusive, and engaging rug will ensure that all students in our classroom feel welcomed and have a designated, safe space to belong.
Our current rug is worn, faded, and no longer conducive to an effective learning environment.
It lacks clear markings for individual space, making group time less structured and comfortable. Additionally, its outdated design does not reflect the vibrant, inclusive, and stimulating environment I strive to create.
In kindergarten, the physical environment plays a critical role in learning. Research shows that defined personal spaces can promote better classroom management, respect for others, and a stronger sense of community, especially important in a diverse classroom.
