it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have been learning about the different parts of plants and their functions. We are currently working on a project to create sustainable gardens using recycled or upcycled materials. Since starting this project 2 weeks ago, their interest in having their own garden to tend has really started to grow.
The goal of my students is to create a community garden that can be shared with their families.
Many of them have mentioned how they don't have a place to grow a garden because they live in apartments and have no yard. Their desire to help their families and others have fresh vegetables and herbs for their families and neighbors has been inspiring.
