Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is in an urban district, where 50% of the students are from the city and 50 % are from surrounding towns. I teach 20 fun, loving and energetic 4 year olds, that are excited about discovering the world around them. Each child comes from a diverse background, which contributes to the richness of my class. Each day, my students enter the room excited and ready to learn.

My students look forward to the hands on exploration that we engage in on a daily basis.

Through the rules, routines and use of a variety of different materials, my students transform to bright, independent, well spoken individuals ready to embark on a new journey: kindergarten.

My Project

My students enjoy reading books. Having headphones will allow my students to follow along to a book on cd. This will help build their fluency and love for reading. In addition, the art supplies will allow my students to use their creative side to express themselves.

Young children learn best through doing; therefore, materials that are hands on encourage exploration and discovery.

Lastly, the teaching easel will allow me to use big books during read alouds, morning messages during circle time, and shared writing with my class, because it can be lowered to the height of my four year old students.
