Help me give my students a fully stocked class with tissues, pens, pencils, notebook paper, hand sanitizer and new magic markers for the 2019-2020 school year!
Our school has an enrollment of 1500+ students of which 34% are economically disadvantaged. We have a balance of 52% males and 48% females, with our minority population at 52%. We have 75% of our students on free or reduced lunch.
Our school is in a suburban area, built in 1970 with a strong school spirit and ties to the community.
Our school has an unusual percentage of teachers who graduated from here and returned later to teach. I jokingly warn the new ninth graders about drinking the water! Our school community is a close-knit group that looks out for each other. Thank you for considering my project for funding to help us.
My Project
I am so excited for this school year and would love to start the year with all the supplies needed for success. I have taught for 15 years, and for the most part, have stalked the good deals at Office Depot and Office Max during the summer, and purchased these supplies myself for use in the classroom. I have heard of the wonderful community of Donorschoose.org and thought perhaps I can get support for this expense.
If you could lend support in my classroom with the never-ending needs for pencils, pens, notebook paper, kleenex and hand sanitizer I would be forever grateful!
My school is a Title I school with 75% Free or Reduced Lunch and many struggle to have their own supplies. This is a battle that I gave up long ago. If they are in school without a pencil, I just smile and give them one. Their stories and experiences would break your heart, not having notebook paper is the least of their worries. Please help me provide these supplies for them.
