This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach health to all students from pre-k to 5th grade at a Title I school. Our school is the only elementary school in our entire county to have an elementary health teacher. A large chunk of the curriculum is on nutrition and food. I would love to have a fridge in our health classroom so that I can have easy access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and other foods that need to stay cold. This will give the students access to fresh food for them to try and learn about how the foods help their bodies.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
