it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At my Title I school, students come from a variety of backgrounds. They frequently tell me that they enjoy science class the most because they are exposed to seeing, feeling, and creating new things. I have the pleasure of teaching honors 8th-grade students and teaching them an accelerated high school course. This group of students is extremely self-motivated, driven, and interested in the sciences. Many of these students attend science specialized high schools after graduation.
This year, I am entering the building with a heavy heart as many of my students lost loved ones due to COVID.
Our school is located in the epicenter of the pandemic in NYC. Please enable me to welcome my students into a warm, loving classroom with materials for a variety of planned projects during this troubling time.

My Project
It has been a challenging two years for my students, to say the very least. My school is located near Elmhurst, NY, the original epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in NYC last spring. Several of my students suffered a loss too immense for words, losing immediate family members.
By the time September rolls around, most of my students will have been out of the physical classroom setting for almost 20 months.
My intention is to provide them with the most welcoming space for learning- a space that they can look forward to seeing each day. A space with an emphasis on project-based learning and creativity. A space they can once again consider as their home. Please help me in making this possible!
