A Fresh Start in Our Room

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These students are very sweet but can come from rough home environments. The classroom is their safe place to be kids. These students love to create, build, learn, revise their thinking, share and so much more in our classroom. Most of our students come from Spanish speaking homes and live in small dwellings, with large families. They don't all have the support they need, so our most difficult task is to help each of them succeed and shine in their own way.

Many of these students do not have access to technology at home and do not have many life experiences that others are so lucky to have.

A majority of them struggle in the classroom academically. The dynamics of my class are very interesting because students range high to low academically, and some have learning disabilities. This is my school's 4th year having a S.T.E.A.M Magnet Program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) on site and this project will allow us to go beyond the surface of these subjects. Due to lack of funding, we do not have the materials we need to support my students' learning goals and styles.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in our classroom by helping us stay organized and ready to learn. A cricut machine will provide an easy way to label and personalize classroom materials, such as pencil boxes, folders, drawers for various materials and so much more.

The mouse devices and headphones will allow our technology time to be more user friendly.

With Chromebooks becoming one to one last year, we have been learning new ways to access information.

All the extra storage will allow all of our supplies to be easily accesible and encourage independence/ responsiblilty in our classroom. Our room will be ready for success!
