Help me give my students paper, envelopes, rulers, a paper cutter, and other supplies, plus tote bags so I can distribute distance learning materials to my students to take home.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My fifth graders live in a primarily working class and immigrant neighborhood that is currently going through some demographic changes. Some of my students are learning English as a second language, some have special needs, and they all love to learn. We are a film and communication magnet center.
Our school motto is, "The world is changing, and change starts with me." This message is so true in 2020!
Every student at our school received Chromebooks to take home in March so they could continue learning online during the pandemic. The transition was tough for them at first, but our kids continued their learning using a variety of online platforms with enthusiasm and energy! My fifth grade class this coming year is a group of kids I taught once a week last year during weekly filmmaking workshops when they were in fourth grade. I can hardly wait to have them this year for fifth grade!
My Project
Our class loves to be together in person, but when we are distance learning, we want school to be like our regular classroom as much as we can. One thing we do every day in class is make "foldables."
Every day we will use the supplies for daily exercises in English language arts, science, social studies, art, and math.
With the variety of paper, we will make foldables to organize our learning. A foldable is basically like an origami graphic organizer, and the colored paper will make the information pop out. I will use the trimmer to cut the paper to the appropriate size before I distribute the paper to my students, and everything will be kept safe in the envelopes. We'll use the rulers for art and math. The tote bags will be a handy place to keep all of their new supplies at home. We also need basic supplies like binder clips and a stapler.
We will start the school year with distance learning, and with your generous donation, my students will have all the tools they need to learn from home. My kids and I thank you!
