This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am making a new home at G.E in Austin with 2nd Grade ESL students. Excited to be their teacher, I am coming from 4th and 5th grade and do not have any books on their level at this time! I have previously taught 2nd grade, but shared all my resources with another teacher. These books as well as a comfy space will allow complete focus on their independent reading time. 2nd grade is a time of growth and fluency for our students and they need access to popular books within the classroom too! With the colorful rug and the comfy bean bag chairs, the students will be drawn to this area to support the time for reading.
