My Project
Building fluency in students (with this CD player, audio books, headphones, etc.) is important because it directly impacts their ability to read, understand, and enjoy text. Fluency is more than just reading quickly—it includes accuracy, proper expression, and comprehension. Here’s why it matters:
Improves Comprehension: Fluent readers can focus on understanding the text rather than decoding each word.
This leads to better comprehension and learning.
Builds Confidence: When students read smoothly, they feel more capable and motivated to read more, which reinforces learning.
Supports Vocabulary Development: Reading fluently exposes students to new words in context, helping them expand their vocabulary.
Encourages Enjoyment of Reading: Fluent readers can experience stories and information more naturally, which fosters a lifelong love of reading.
Strengthens Writing Skills: Reading fluently helps students notice sentence structures, punctuation, and expression, which they can apply in their own writing.
In short, fluency is a bridge between decoding words and truly understanding and enjoying reading.
