Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are thoughtful, curious, and resilient learners in a special education setting. Each one of them has unique learning styles and needs, but all share a determination to grow. What makes them special is their ability to show up and try every day, even when learning feels hard. They thrive in environments that are calm, predictable, and responsive, and they deserve a space that meets them where they are.

This project will help create a learning environment that is both structured and flexible, which is key for student success.

The whiteboard table will provide a hands-on space where students can brainstorm, solve problems, and engage visually with content. This is especially helpful for those who struggle with traditional paper-and-pencil work. It also encourages collaboration in a way that feels natural and fun.

My goal for this project is to give my students the kind of space they deserve, one that promotes independence, supports their sensory and academic needs, and helps them feel safe and capable. With these tools, we can build a more functional classroom that supports not just academic growth, but also emotional and behavioral development.
