it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Far long ago, a classroom consisted of rows and columns, empty walls, and a room full of too many students. This way of building a classroom has thankfully evolved throughout the years. I want to take my classroom even further and introduce more flexible seating to my Knights' Castle.
I want to fund my project of a Flexible Castle for my Knights.
At my school, each classroom is called a college–typically the college from which the lead teacher attended. I received both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees both at UCF (GO KNIGHTS!) hence our mascot name.
Flexible seating is a practice in education where students are allowed to make their own choice when it comes to their learning environment in terms of type of seat and location. I have worked in education on and off for about 6 years and I have seen countless times–the positive affect on student choice. With flexible seating, students are allowed to exercise that right in my classroom and choose what will be most conducive to their own learning and vibes. Student choice also builds responsibility in the classroom. Since they are making their own decisions, they are held responsible for trying their best and using their privilege respectfully as it may be taken away. *cue the boos*
Every year, I am also the Special Education Cluster teacher meaning that most or all streamlined special education students in the grade level will join my class. With having this demographic of students it is crucial that ALL students, including those who are hyperactive, have seating that supports their style of learning.
Every dollar counts! Please help support my stellar Knights who shine so BRIGHT!
