My Project
I have a group of amazing students! I love to see their unique personalities and strengths. Many of them have the support they need at home to be successful at school, but unfortunately, the majority of my students do not. When they come to school, I want them to receive the best support that I can give them! With the supplies I have requested in my project, I will be able to support their on-task behavior. The AOC monitor I am asking for will be used to monitor the websites students are accessing. While doing so, I will be able to keep students on task, lessening their work needing to be done at home and some of the need for academic support from family. I will use the second monitor in connection with a program called Go Guardian that allows teachers to view student Chromebook activity. This is essential because of the privacy laws we encounter. If I am displaying what I have on my own computer screen or what I have under my document camera to support a lesson, I am not able to monitor Chromebook activity because my devices are in use during teaching time. If I have a second monitor, I can do both at the same time while keeping student info confidential as well as decreasing distractions for them during work time. If I am able to monitor students who are getting off task, I will be able to get them back on track with a gentle reminder via Go Guardian and their messaging system or by freezing their access if needed. The USB port is necessary to run the monitor, as I have used all of my other USB ports with other devices. The magnets will help in displaying critical math vocabulary words.
