A Few Supplies Will Help Our Classroom Shine!

My students need a few things: a timer which lets them keep track of time during independent reading/writing and some great graphic novels!

I teach at a public school in New York.

My students are gifted, motivated and diverse. They are eager for a challenge and are enthusiastic learners. They consume the books in my classroom library at incredible speeds, and I like to keep my library well-stocked so they will be encouraged to keep reading and trying new things.

My Project

I'm requesting a variety of supplies which will help my classroom run smoothly, this year. Since NYC's "Teachers Choice" program has been eliminated, we literally have NO budget from which to decorate and run our classrooms. Having these supplies will help me do my job more efficiently, and, in turn, will help my students enjoy learning. Here are a few examples of how these supplies will have a direct impact in my classroom: -there are a number of students currently interested in reading graphic novels. We currently own (only!) two. They will be thrilled to see additional copies. -Middle school students struggle with time-management. By having an operational classroom timer, they will be able to self-monitor, as we work on independent writing and reading, each week!

Since our school is not able to provide us with the supplies I am requesting, your support is truly needed.

A complete and fully-stocked classroom allows teachers to do their jobs. I deeply appreciate any support you can provide.
