My Students

The students in my class and school come from a diverse socioeconomic background. Some of my students are learning English and need access to Spanish books to read at home. My students work really hard and enjoy school. They take advantage of all opportunities that our school gives to them.

I want my students to be able to learn the English language through literature that is at their level.

My Project

This year I will be working with English Language learners who have been doing a great job learning the English language over the last few years. Many of the books in my classroom library are above their current reading level. I want them to have the opportunity to read books that are on their level (below grade level for 5th grade) to become confident readers who continue to progress with learning English. I also want all students in my class to be able to navigate the computer with ease. Using computer mice makes using the computer in the classroom easier than using the laptop trackpad.
