I am a STEM teacher in an elementary school and my students are in grades K-5. My students live throughout the borough of the Bronx and have Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our school is part of New York City's District 75, which provides specialized instruction and support for students with significant challenges.
Our students are eager to learn and explore and I look forward to seeing their faces light up when they are introduced to new topics or hands-on activities!
My students succeed best when they are provided with a well managed and structured environment, that’s full of love and support for their individual needs. When provided with a well rounded education including visual, auditory, tactile and technology opportunities, my students will continue to grow and achieve success!
My Project
Every teacher no matter what grade or content is being taught must teach social emotional learning! This year has been one like no other and our students emotions need to be addressed. After a lesson of inquiry and experiments I would love to be able to read a loud these beautiful books. Many of these books teach a lesson or have a theme that my kiddos can leave my room thinking about. Some include always being proud of your culture, how families can look different, it's important to have integrity and how one voice can change the world! These are just some of the life lessons that our students need to be immersed in at a young age. Lessons that will open their minds to diversity and building their confidence!
