Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our Title I classroom, every student deserves opportunities to learn in a space that supports their unique needs. Many of my students are neurodiverse—some live with ADHD, some are on the autism spectrum, and others benefit from sensory tools that help them stay calm, focused, and ready to learn. Our classroom is a diverse community of learners, and I believe equity means giving each child what they need to succeed, not expecting every child to need the same thing.

This project will provide calming fidgets, sensory toys, and motivating treats that help students manage their energy and emotions throughout the day.

Items like squishy stress balls, mochi toys, and even culturally familiar candies allow me to support focus and emotional regulation in ways that are student-centered and inclusive. These aren’t just rewards or toys—they’re tools for equity, helping level the playing field for students who might otherwise struggle to stay engaged.

By funding this project, you're giving my students a fair chance to focus, learn, and thrive.
