This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My alto saxes are frustrated by their gold ligatures. This beginner ligature is extremely stiff, does not hold the reed in place, bends, breaks often, and does not work in tandem with a good mouthpiece. We spend more money replacing gold ligatures, more so than any other section in the band annually.
My students want a durable ligature that is easy to use and will allow them to play with a darker tone with a better mouthpiece.
The Rovner ligature will give my beginners the perfect start without the frustration of a bent metal ligature with missing screws. This simple ligature makes a significant difference to any saxophone player and is an investment that will save our band program money for years!
