A Dry Erase Kidney Table For My Kindergarten Scholars

My students need a dry erase kidney table to help them practice various skills in a comfortable, private area with teacher support.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school district, I see that my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. We spend a big part of the day together, and one of my goals is to always provide them with authentic, meaningful experiences on a daily basis.

My students are inquisitive, curious and very eager to learn.

They love to learn about new things and especially love hands-on activities. Many of my students are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Unfortunately, some of these things may prevent them from acquiring the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk into my classroom my job is to not only teach them but to make their day a memorable one. I want them to leave my class on a daily basis thinking "learning is fun".

My Project

A dry erase kidney table would be a wonderful asset to my classroom. It would allow me to meet with a group of students and monitor their academic growth privately. The students could work on many skills at this table. They could practice our daily sight words, and writing sentences as well as phonics skills such as blending sounds and building words. The students could also work on various math concepts such as writing numbers, addition sentences, subtraction sentences and much more!

Children love to use a dry erase boards because it keeps them very engaged.

This kidney table would be such a wonderful resource in our classroom.
