A Document Camera will bring our online classroom to life!
Help me give my students what we have been missing for 8 weeks! A document camera will help me display real time modeling for my students while we Distance Learn!
I teach third grade at an amazing school located in Staten Island, New York. Unfortunately our doors shuttered in March to protect our students, staff and families from the Worldwide Pandemic. Many of my students where without the proper technology to give them the ability to Distance Learn. Gratefully, our school stepped in and we lent out every school laptop we had and then the city stepped in to distribute I pads to the rest of our families in need. My students have the technology they need.
I left my Document Camera behind!
I never thought we would be out of school for so long. A week maybe two while the school was cleaned. I am missing my document camera beyond measure. The modeling I can do with my document camera is something I am greatly missing in my daily online teaching. I go live twice a day and the online whiteboards aren't going to demonstrate in real time what my written hand can as I model and share examples. Please help!
My Project
What I have been missing in my daily live teaching is the opportunity to show real time examples by hand. I have tried the in home whiteboard, too blurry for students to see. I have tried writing on paper and holding it up to the screen and it is too small.
A Document Camera will bring my examples and modeling to life with the familiarity we miss from our "real" classroom.
Students will be able to see me model writing and math with steps and procedure in real time handwriting. An online whiteboard does not demonstrate this the same way.
