My Students
I teach at a small neighborhood school in Chicago's west side. Nearly half of our students are English language learners and seventy-seven percent of our students are low income.
My 25 third graders are full of energy and love to learn!
They amaze me every day with their dedication to school and our classroom community. I strive every day to make our classroom a welcoming and safe environment that encourages my students to take risks and become better learners and global citizens!
My Project
Our students need to see themselves in the literature they are reading. It is also important for students to see those who are different than themselves.
Now more than ever, it is important for our students to embrace the wonderful differences we see in our world.
Your donation to our classroom project will help me build an even more diverse classroom library. This year I will be making the move from fourth grade to third grade and we are in need of more diverse third grade texts.
Thank you for supporting our classroom. We appreciate your commitment to our learning!
More than half of students from low‑income households
