Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are full of strength, community, and empathy. They cultivate these skills inside and outside of the classroom by being active participants in their own education. I will continue to nourish their passions by providing them with as many engaging resources as possible.

My students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, but they stay defined and motivated by their strengths.

My classroom remains centered around my students concerns and interests because they are activist and leaders in their life. I will continue to empower my students through any resources I can get my hands on.

My Project

I am asking for three different classroom library book sets. These books will give my students agency in their life-long reading careers.

I want to provide my students with as much choice as possible to sustain their engagement in reading, I hope to do this through a classroom library diverse enough to meet all their needs.

These books will allow my students to explore their own identities as well as new, and never before imagined, adventures. They can be carried off into a different world or learn about an important historical figure. Everyday students will be able to utilize the classroom library to its fullest potential by having the ability to choose reading material that is meaningful to them.
