This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In today's 21st century world, my goal is to educate 21st century learners. My students come for a low socio-economic background with a high number of English learners. They live mostly in apartments, but some live in nearby motels, shelters, or are homeless.
Technology is not a priority among the families at my school.
Their focus is on day to day survival. Many parents work 2 or more jobs just to make ends meet. They want a better life for their children.
My Project
Another set of Chromebooks will allow my students, as well as the other third grade classroom I share with, to work collaboratively on a variety of assignments. They can access assignments on Google Classroom and work together to complete the tasks. If they are lucky enough to have technology at home, they can access these assignments from home as well. For most of my students who don't have access to technology at home, it will provide the tools they need for a blended learning curriculum.
Google Slides will give my students a way to showcase their developing listening and speaking skills.
Finally, students can work independently on a digital tool customized for their learning needs.
