This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As my students embark on a brand new year, help them find joy and the love of learning through a fully functioning library!

I teach 26 bright second graders in a high need area of Bronx, New York. Most of my students receive free or reduced rate lunch and are enthusiastic to learn each day. As thier teacher I feel joy in the positive experiences my students gain in my classroom.

My Project

We will use the Guided Reading Collection: Grade 2 Fiction/Nonfiction books as leveled reading books for our guided reading block and the Paperback Classics Library as read-a-loud books to supplement our TC reading curriculum.

Your donation will allow my students to think that reading is fun and exciting!

The books will be used throughout the year for independent reading, partner reading and read-a-louds.

Having supplies for a classroom library will teach my students the value and importance that books have in our lives. A fully functioning library in our classroom will also give my learners a unique experience that they will take with them throughout their lives and even inspire them to become readers for life.
