This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In a cheerful classroom filled with colorful posters and the sound of giggling, a group of second graders will embark on a joyful journey into the world of books. The fun doesn't stop there- these young readers will have the chance to express their creativity by decorating their book bags to carry their growing collection of stories.

Reading time is one of the most anticipated parts of the day.

Whether it's a silly story to make them laugh or a magical tale that sparks their imagination, every student will find something to love. To make it even more special, I would like to give each student a cloth bag to decorate with markers and stickers. This decorating experience will help each child feel ownership and pride in their reading habits. Carrying their bags will give them a sense of responsibility and independence, as if they were real readers on a big adventure.

By connecting reading and art I hope my students will grow not just as readers, but as confident and joyful readers. My final wish is, I hope they learn that reading isn't just something we do-it's something we love.
