My Students

Scissors are so limiting next to the Silhouette electronic cutting tool, which can precisely cut anything you can design on the computer into a variety of materials including stamps, magnets, stickers, vinyl, paper and fabric.

My students are just four to six years old and thrive with hands-on materials.

They use stamps and magnets on a daily basis. They learn vocabulary and stay organized with labels. They love fun shapes for awards and crafts. And they are full of imagination and creativity.

My Project

The Silhouette Portrait is an electronic cutting machine that resembles a typical printer. However, instead of printing it uses a small blade to cut custom designs into an array of materials including paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric, and more. The versatility of this machine allows it to aid in classroom design, organization and most importantly, student learning. From personalized name stamps to sight word magnets, the possibilities are very exciting. This project includes the Silhouette machine as well as the materials and tools to make custom stamps, stickers and magnets.

The Silhouette Portrait is an ideal tool for teachers and students alike and the practical applications are nearly limitless.

Whether it's a poster for a presentation or props for a play, this electronic cutting machine can do that and much more. With so many uses, just imagine what it can do for our kindergarten classroom!
