This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the most imaginative students that I have ever come across. They can turn any lesson I present into unexpected adventure. I can read a book to them and they immediately want to contribute to the storyline by creating projects and other art displays for the classroom and to take home.
I try to incorporate as much visual art as I can throughout the year.
I give the students the opportunity to express themselves creativity and I see the benefits of this effort in their work with all subjects.
My Project
With the use of the Cricut Maker, I will be able to provide patterns and templates for students to use in the classroom and at home. While students learn how to use scissors and other school materials, I can supplement the art projects with pre-cut forms and patterns. This would eliminate the difficulties many children have with cutting out shapes. This device would also be used to decorate the classroom to reflect current lessons and motivate learning and creativity. There are several occasions throughout the year that children can create art projects to present as gifts to their families and to celebrate the holidays.
