This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Creativity takes Courage." - Henri Matisse
This could be the year that my students can have the opportunity to create more three-dimensional works of art.
My students are very artistic, creative, and take on every challenge with grace.
They are the fuel that inspires me to be a better teacher every day. My students take pride in their artwork and get excited to share the finished product with their peers and other teachers on campus. Unfortunately, we had a few students burn themselves with low temperature glue guns. Risk management came in and had all the glue guns removed.
My Project
The ultra low temperature glue guns and glue sticks will allow my students to create sculptural projects without the risk of burning themselves. These ultra low temperature glue guns are hot but not hot enough to burn our students' fingers. Often we ask our students to be creative so we give them sketchbooks, paper, pencils, markers, paint, and sometimes clay.
Adding a more challenging material such as hot glue to use on cardboard for the art room will give my students an opportunity to think outside the box and create eco-friendly sculptural projects to help expand their imagination and creativity while teaching them to think about the environment.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
