Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach 2nd grade students. My classroom is a place where we build not just academic skills, but social-emotional ones, too. Every day, my students come to school full of energy, curiosity, and the desire to learn and they deserve a warm, welcoming space that supports them.
Right now, we don't have a comfortable or functional rug.
A new rug will give my students a clean, soft space to sit and focus. It helps establish routine, manage transitions, and promote a calm and organized learning environment. For many students, especially those who need sensory regulation, having a designated soft space makes a big difference in their ability to engage and learn.
