My students need 3 big pillows and a small Learn Your Colors activity carpet. This will allow my students to sit in a cozy place while developing their focus and enjoying their reading material.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Love for reading is important to develop at an early age. To discover the importance of reading, it is essential in the lives of all children.
My classroom is filled with the future, bright 4 and 5 year old children that come to school eager to discover something new about the world surrounding them.
As a pre-school teacher, it amazes me how each child grows individually. Our school is located in a low income area; there are families that do not spend time with them reading literature in a quiet place. I want my students to be able to enjoy their readings in a cozy environment so they can be able to develop their concentration and reading skills
My Project
Every preschool classroom should have a cozy corner. A classroom full of children can be overwhelming for everyone, the children in particular. Creating a quiet corner where children can development love for reading, focus, rest, decompress, soothe and recover is necessary in every classroom. Also, this space can provide children who struggle an opportunity to focus in a quiet place and most importantly acquire knowledge through reading. As a teacher, I believe that children are likely to be better learners and achieve success throughout their school years by acquiring early strong reading skills.
