A Cozy Carpet for Our Class

My students need a rug to sit on for reading and language development time. This beautiful Around the World rug will reinforce our geography study as well!

My Students

Our students are sweet, enthusiastic learners with intellectual, physical, and speech/language disabilities who stay in our self-contained classroom for all subjects, all day.

We are a Title I school in a very high poverty area, serving a racially diverse population.

We make the most of our very limited resources, but could use some support to make this old portable classroom a space that is conducive to learning for our students with intense learning needs.

My Project

Because we spend the entire day together in our special needs classroom, having a comfy area to circle up and develop those precious language skills is so important for our intellectually and speech/language disabled students.

A new rug will help us create the perfect space conducive to their language development and physical needs.

They will love reviewing the alphabet and continents on the rug during circle time, and enjoy getting comfortable for our Excellence in Reading time.

They LOVE listening to stories and talking about the things they know and understand. Creating a safe, comfortable place for them to practice their conversational skills is vital to their growth and development. Thank you for helping to make this possible!
