Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, kindness, and eagerness to grow—not just academically, but emotionally as well. Each day, they show up with big hearts and even bigger emotions. My goal is to give them the tools they need to navigate stress, anxiety, and frustration in a healthy and supportive way.

This project will help me create a calming corner in our classroom—an inviting space where students can practice self-regulation and emotional awareness.

The resources I’m requesting, including sensory tools, calming visuals, and comfortable seating, will provide students with a safe space to pause, reflect, and reset when emotions become overwhelming.

By having access to this dedicated space, my students will learn lifelong strategies for managing emotions, improving focus, and returning to learning with a clear and calm mind. This calming corner is more than just a physical space—it's a step toward building a classroom culture rooted in empathy, safety, and emotional growth.
