This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California where children come to school each morning ready to learn and grow! There's never a dull moment in our class; my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They're eager to learn, explore, engage and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. We need more instructional materials for the children to engage with, materials that will foster their interest in technology, literacy, math, science, art and engineering. Every single one of my students deserves a fair chance at having his or her potential nurtured and fully developed. My little ones have an insatiable curiosity, that's why it's important for me to have a class with a variety of instructional materials to meet their educational needs.

My Project

Technology is one of the fields that drives the economy of our present time, that's why it's important for me to integrate technology based learning in my classroom. My students will be in the 21st century tech loop with the All New Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet, they will begin to freely explore and feel comfortable using touch screen tablets with a variety of developmentally appropriate interactive media. The Tiggly Learner Kit Toy will foster my students curiosity and creativity while engaging with a variety of digital apps teaching literacy, shape recognition, problem solving, motor skills addition, counting, word building, short and long vowel sounds, reading and digital storytelling. My students will benefit from optimal learning while engaging with the Marbonic Smart Letters and Numbers educational app and toy. Marbonic uses wooden letters and numbers that look like traditional toys but these letters and numbers act like a stamp on the screen, their movements make things happen in the digital world, promoting a fun way to learn. These devices will permit my young students to engage interactively in an intuitive fashion with actions as simple as swiping, moving and pinching. These devices will not replace the directed teaching and interactions I engage with with my students, instead it will provide my most financially disadvantaged students without access to technology a fair chance of having the opportunity to engage with at school with devices of our current time.
