My Project
In our classroom, we understand that sometimes students need a brief moment to pause, breathe, and regroup before rejoining the learning environment. To support emotional regulation and mental well-being, we're setting up a Calming Corner which is a quiet, safe space where students can spend a few minutes calming down and collecting their thoughts.
This space will include:
Zen garden – for meditative raking and focus
Calming strips – tactile tools for grounding and sensory soothing
Oil diffuser with essential oils – promoting relaxation through gentle aromatherapy
Pendulum – encouraging mindful focus and slow, calming movement
Sand art – offering visual and kinetic calming effects
Students will be encouraged to use the Calming Corner for just a few minutes when they feel overwhelmed or distracted. They can interact with the tools provided or simply sit quietly to reflect and reset.
By allowing these small moments of calm, we aim to build emotional resilience and help all students return to class feeling centered and ready to learn.
