My Students
My class is made up of a diverse set of backgrounds and include English language learners, special education students, and those receiving free or reduced lunches in Columbia, Maryland. Most importantly my students love coming to school, learning, and being in second grade.
My second grade students are the most imaginative and creative little human beings I've ever met!
I want my students to celebrate their differences while learning to love and embrace each other. This rug will allow us to meet and socialize while providing each student with personal space.
My Project
We are requesting a rug for our classroom to use during our story time, calendar, and whole group lessons. My students need a cozy carpet to invite them to learn. We spend most of our day on the floor and my students would love to have a comfy space of their own while they take on the learning challenges of second grade.
Having this classroom rug and easel will allow my students to stay focused on their learning instead of worrying about where they are sitting.
Minimizing distractions and increasing their focus is optimal for helping kindergarteners learn and grow.
