My Project
As a teacher I want to create an environment that is vibrant, colorful and most importantly suitable for the learning needs of my students. I want to be able to give all my students the best experiences possible, but I need your help...
I am an elementary school second grade teacher in a high needs school in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
This is my first year as a second grade teacher and having a classroom of my own. My students come diverse cultures and economic backgrounds. My first graders are curious, eager and hard working learners. These students not only learn from their teachers, but from each other.
Having flexible seating and different spots to sit gives students opportunities to move around and have their own space. Students can find different places throughout the classroom where they can read their books and do their learning and any activities.
It is important to be able to provide students with materials that enhance their learning.
It is also important to give students an environment that also provides them comfort. It is my wish to provide my students with everything and anything that will enhance their learning and by supporting this project you are helping me to provide my students with an area where they can open up their minds and learn.
